FOCAL POINTS

The focal points are those persons authorized by different institutions in the State, whether governmental or non-governmental, to participate in the preparation and development of population policy at various stages. The representatives of these different bodies work to integrate population policy objectives and programs into the activities of their institutions, follow up on their implementation and evaluation, and form the link between their institutions and the technical office, which submits their observations and recommendations to the Population Standing Committee for appropriate action.

The governmental and non-governmental bodies and their various institutions participate in the activities of the Standing Committee for Population and work to achieve the objectives of the population policy with the appropriate mechanisms and means for each. The number of candidates nominated by their representatives in the points of reference is 46 different. The bodies were selected on the basis of the work program on mechanisms for implementing population policy objectives. Each of these bodies nominated one or two members to participate in the focal points activity, totaling 82 members.
