As part of its ongoing research and studies projects, the Permanent Population Committee (PPC) recently finalized a study titled "The Population Policy Concept and the GCC Need". The study, which is a scientific publication released by the PPC, is a second of a series called "Population Profiles".
The study revealed that, while population policy concept is not a merely contemporary notion but a deeply rooted understanding in the history of humanity, technological and servicing developments, that occurred on earth, as well as appeals calling for human rights and globalization, are crucial factors affecting population policy concepts and promotion as well as development. Human factor being commonly target and mean of development.
The study, supported by the realization strength of future expectations and even their most optimistic, ascertained that current population status in the GCC region necessitates appropriate design and adoption of adequate policies on regional and national levels, in general. Methodology, tools and procedures included in the related population policies should reflect existing situations and ensure plans for gradual implementation highlighting the importance of time factor to gradually realize goals, monitor follow-up according to phasing plans and programs, evaluate and review previous activities whenever and wherever required.
