PPC launches its renovated version website


 


His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Permanent Population Committee (PPC) launches the renovated version of PPC on the Internet e-website at (www.ppc.gov.qa). The website new look aims at publishing population studies and researches to provide users with information impacting on the related socio-economic status of the country.

His Excellency, speaking for the occasion, said that “The issuance of new website look is a significant achievement because it supports efforts conducted by the PPC towards disseminating a population culture within the State of Qatar”. He emphasized the importance of global communication through all available means and more especially through Internet facilities.

The new shape of the website, hosts a number of essential topics carefully deliberated at the PPC, these are to include: PPC identification, mission, vision, objectives, achievements, technical bureau capabilities, recent demographic situation, and main population policy pillars. Services, also include access to population publications, population-related studies and researches, population newsletter, and information about the related recent activities with direct implications on the socio-economic development in Qatar.

In this context, PPC is striving to develop the Population Policy for the State of Qatar. This objective is linked to a number of sub-goals, among which are the following most prominent:

• Monitoring the population policy implementation through a scientific approach and studying carefully the various proposals of the relevant organizations and institutions entrusted with implementation.

• Developing an institutional framework to coordinate efforts among inline Ministries, Government Agencies, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Arab, Regional and International Institutions dealing with population related issues to implement the national population policy programs.

• Monitoring processes aimed at integrating population policy goals within global development plans, specifically within plans related to social, health, education, media, culture and environment sectors.

• Conducting population related studies and researches to assess the social situation of the State, and ensuring appropriate levels of quality and objectivity, to assist the design of population policies and programs.
