The Permanent Population Committee (PPC) has chaired the fourth meeting of the GCC Population Policy Committee meeting held at the GCC Secretariat General headquarters in Riyadh on April 29- 30, 2008.
Representatives from all GCC population Committee discussed several population-related issued listed on the meeting agenda and the report submitted by Secretariat General, which focused on the population questionnaire review by Qatar's PPC.
PPC officials said the GCC representatives appreciated intensely the PPC's efforts in developing the questionnaire which was unanimously adopted by the member states. The Population situation in the region has also been discussed by the participants.
The GCC Population Policy Committee is moving towards a common strategy to address population policies in the region, coordinate efforts extended by the GCC member states and exchange expertise among the national population committees.
